Having exited the altcoin market except for namecoin, I’m researching bitcoin stocks. The following is a braindump of my thoughts regarding the bitcoin securities offered via Havelock Investments. Future communiques may be more polished 🙂
The current darling of the bitcoin stock investing world. Is asicminer already “peaked” or can the price run higher yet for a while? This isn’t a 100x investment, but having proven itself it’s presumably less risky than other potential 100x investments. ASICM doubled since april, flat now. It pays a nice dividend. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=ASICM
As a side note, ASICM sells these thingies: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CUJT7TO/ Should we buy some, as accessoires to our rasberry pis? 😉
Then there’s havelock investment mining. The basic theory here is that all the mining stocks will shine in the reflected glory of ASICM in the coming weeks/months, making HIM currently undervalued. Also they have an interesting seeming business plan, which… I haven’t fully yet grokked. There will be a stock split tomorrow that may not be fully priced in, so today might be a good day to buy.
Then there’s korb and co mining (kcim). They seem to have bet big on butterfly labs, and stock price is low because everyone hates on BFL these days. If BFL can recover credibility, KCIM could blip up I guess. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=KCIM
BTW, when I say low I mean, up only 10% this year 😉
SDICE. Wish I had bought this in 2011. Oh well. Formerly a btc shining star, now in disfavor because they recently announced they will not allows us customers to gamble in their casino (regulations), and the price tumbled. Still, why did the price go down if the dividend went up? Well managed, simple business plan, always pays a dividend. I like SDICE. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=SDICEVTX
Last stock through havelock: vtx, a canadian bitcoin exchange. Seems legit, right? No dividend yet, maybe a spike up once they pay? Price quite low now compared to ipo: https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=VTX
